JCI Romania National Convention 5-8 october 2017 - Constanta

Between 5th to 8th of October 2017 JCI Constanta will host the Annual National Conference of JCI Romania, event that will celebrate the 14th anniversary of the establishment and membership to global federation JCI.
The event will take place over four days from Thursday evening to Sunday and will bring together members of JCI local organizations and initiative groups, people from the private sector (entrepreneurs and managers), young leaders and active citizens, trainers and speakers from around the country and abroad. The main theme of the conference will consist of one day dedicated to sustainable tourism development were the COC JCI Constanta will prepare interesting sessions with representatives from the public and private sector. JCI Constanta won a prestigious award at EC Malta 2014 with "JCI PLAY 4x4" project and this conference will give us the opportunity to organize a five hours off-road session where you can admire the beautiful nature of Constanta surroundings.
Situated on the Black Sea Coast, Constanta is one of the largest cities in the country with wide beaches, intense nightlife and places filled with history dating back to the roman times of the old antique citadel of Tomis. At JCI Romania National Convention 2017 delegates will have the opportunity to visit the city center with beautiful old buildings, Ovidius Square, cathedrals, The Casino of Constanta and the turistic port Tomis. Besides sessions on different topics COC will prepare great outdoor activities.
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs, with approximately 200,000 active members, aged between 18 and 40 years, and over a million alumni, being present in more than 5,000 communities in over 100 countries. Profile JCI members include entrepreneurs, young professionals, managers, civil servants, academics and leaders from different fields of activity.
JCI is based on a local organization founded in 1915 by Henry Giessenbier, Jr. in St. Louis in the United States of America. It became international in 1944, as the JCI, as a result of meeting of delegates from eight countries in Mexico City. JCI has managed to bring together people from different countries, whose actions were based on principles of active citizenship – citizen involvement in changing society for the better. Over time, the organization took part known political leaders – UN Secretaries-General, several presidents of state, heads of government and ministers.
JCI’s mission is to provide youth development opportunities through which they acquire the power to create positive change in society.
JCI in Romania
The first organization under the name JCI was founded 2002, in Bucharestand in 2003 established JCI Romania federation by JCI Bucharest, Timișoara, with Constanta and Brasov, which receives JCI global membership. At the present JCI Romania has 11 local organizations: JCI Bucharest, JCI Constanta, JCI Timisoara, JCI Cluj, JCI Brasov, JCI Iasi, JCI Craiova, JCI Prahova, JCI Targu Mures, JCI Galaţi and JCI Suceava and one initiative group: JCI Bacau. With over 300 active members at a national level, the organization aims to involve active young people between the ages of 18-40 years in order to develop positive impact in their communities.
JCI Constanta has the honor of being the organizer of JCI Romania National Convention 2017. JCI Constanta was founded in 2003 and has around 40 active members. JCI Constanta had a great performance during the last years and was awarded at international level at JCI European Conference 2015 in Istanbul as "JCI Most Outstanding Local Organization". This year National President of JCI Romania Oana Radu is also a JCI Constanta member.
